My son has been through a lot due to his father's addiction and anger issues.
Hey there, Baby Bear,
How are you?
Did you catch that cricket?
Find that missing block?
Talk to me about that cool toy,
The one I wish I could afford to buy.
I’ll make you a snack;
Milk with that?
Little boy,
How I love your spirit,
And the way your face glows when you see me.
Your hugs and laughter are what I live for,
What I would die for.
You have been my first thought when I wake,
And the last as I fall asleep since I first knew of your existence.
My heart breaks to see you in pain, both physical and emotional.
I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you,
But I did the best I could.
Never fear,
For I am always here for you,
And even when I’m gone,
I’ll be in your heart and in your memories.
Yours forever and a day,
Mommy.
