Life is a series of moments...
Moments

Life is a series of moments
Conjoined by the things that we choose
A collection of different components
Things that we find and we lose
Items we cobble together
Make the best of the parts come our way
A framework on which we can tether
A playground in which we can play
And seek out the ones that complete us
Attract them with lures and nerve
In the hope that they stay, and won’t leave us
As we hope and we pray we deserve,
We hope they won’t see through the facade
Won’t mistreat the hearts on our sleeves
As they too, hide, play, in their charades
Neither side truly believes
Believes that their place at the table
Is earned, and is quite rightly theirs
Neither hand thinking they’re able
Despite having two matching pairs
And the game, it is only a short one,
Too brief to be buried in bluffs
More often you’ll find that a straight run
Is quite often much more than enough
For the moments to knit close together
The things that we are... and could be
When all of these things come together
… Forever is ours to see
