This is just a poem that I wrote in response to finding out what true love feels like.
I used to ask, what is love?
Does passionate love really exist?
I had never seen the kind of love
That sets your heart on fire
I had never seen the kind of love
That makes you smile constantly

I used to ask, what is love?
Is there really a soulmate for me?
Then the other half of my soul
Joined with me one day
It was like the world was on fire
And our smiles could make it burn

I used to ask, what is love?
Could this fire, this passion, be love?
The corners of my mouth twist up
Whenever they come to mind
Life feels so calm and right
Whenever they are around

I used to ask, what is love?
But eventually we all answer this question
Love comes from within ourselves
Only when we truly love who we are
Will we be able to love another
As we are all meant to
