Written for a friend that I've recently reconnected with.
Years have past but time stood still
Frozen like an arctic chill.
No dream has come; No mem'ry thought,
Where you weren't dancing in the dark.
Captive by the moonlight glow,
The tempest raged within my soul.
Longing tears as rivers bleed and poisoned air were all I'd breathe.

My heart had broke like shattered glass; blown apart like volcanic ash.
As words from a ghost, softly whispered,
Gone on winds that blew unhindered.
Hope had died; faded black,
Struck with grief no light could pass.
Days on end had passed me by,
All I'd do was softly cry.

But now the sun has shown its face, draped with silken angel lace.
I've never known such lovely grace
As that of you in heaven's place.
Gone so long from depths within,
Now my heart beats strong again.
You are my life, you're all I've known;
The very essence of my soul.

I'm bound to you by golden twine,
Diamond crusted silver shine.
Please, please stay- I implore;
My world would end if you leave once more.
Where fate would lead, I'd hoped was you;
Hoped you'd say the same thing too.
I love you now as I did back then,
God! I pray we meet again.
