When you can't say what you want to...
Words befall the scattered mind,
Thoughts so scrambled-
tossed in kind.
The need to say what shan't be said,
Feels so fumbled-
fragile head.

Twisting, turning, rampaging dread,
Fighting the urge to break the thread;
To speak the mind so long suppressed,
To dive in waters ne'er tread.

The fear remains a stubborn foe-
Worth the fight, I do not know.
Dangerous grounds erupt before me;
Wise would be to turn to safety.
So here I'll sit, shadowed and 'lorn,
And continue wondering: "O if only".
