Fairies, fire flies, a shooting star
Once upon a time.... A long time ago
We would lay and gaze up at the night sky
Watching and counting the stars
And even watch the fire-flies buzz by
We were young, we were free

We lived in a world
A magical one
Where fairies would dance under the petals
Where the sandman, we were told
Would come visit at night and our dreams he would hold
Where the tooth fairy would dance on our pillow at night
To collect that tooth that was pulled with delight

Aaaah the days of innocence, dreams and imagination
Follow the end of the rainbow, we were told
You are sure to find a pot of gold
How eager we were and full of bliss

I recalled those days today
When I too layed under the night sky
And for a moment I closed my eyes
Upon seeing a shooting star
I made my wish
For it has been told, that if you truly believe
Hold your breath and you will see
Your wish will come true
And with that, I opened my eyes
I had a smile, upon hearing my little one say
"Did the sandman visit you today?"
To which I replied, "He sure did"
"And is keeping my dreams safe for me tonight"
It brought such joy to see his delight

As the wind blew a gentle breeze
I told my son to catch the air
Hold it tight in your hands and place it on your heart
For that is fairy kisses saying goodnite
With that we layed back down
And continued to gaze upon the night sky

The simple things we do forget
Let life not pass you by
Why not lay under the sky?
And just for a moment, let things lie

I promise to do this more
Its most rewarding, to the core
Thank you my children
Who have helped me remember
The true joys in life

And when it came to bedtime
Promptly all 3 children came to lay
A story they wanted
A story of yesteryay
How easy it was to recall
Those memories....without a flore
And before I knew it, they were sound asleep
3 kisses I gave for them to keep
And a kiss on each heart

I gently wispered the words
"Never forget, hold tightly on
To all the things that we have done
Believe in magic, it does exist
Never grow old, always stay young
For you will see, just as I have
What it means to believe."
