Proposal for a new TV show.
Execs, suits, network heads,
heed me, because I have
a TV show for you!  Call it,
Fall in the Family…a humble
suggestion…But as to the show,
it would be about a family where
dissension reigns, where backs
are stabbed and bitten, where
animosity is the norm.  Ergo,
members fall, they slap like
pine wood ringing cold cement
the smack of grief, wounded by
stilettos piercing ventricle, aorta.
Be it Edith, (maybe Mike) they
are dropped by bigotry, by
prejudice and homophobia;
attitudes outrageous,
stalking in enmity, hefting
ax to wedge the bond
family forms, where virtues
then grope sans eyes, and
green-eyed monsters gnaw
to pulp the very calm of love.
Ungracious galloping goes
on in Fall—stallions full force
in stride, the winds of foul
cutting across their path, the
fall of night a welcome respite
from the blazing sun of strife.
The mane, now ragged, matted
from the viscous drool that
is disrespect.  Thus Fall would
be as true to life, as night to day,
as black to white.  Ah, lend me
thine ear, gentlemen—consider
Fall in the FamilyFantasy
Island
is no more, and the
time for trekking to the stars
is cardboard on the porch.
Reality goes with the Fall.
