Prompt Words: cloak, moonbeams, bride, sage, maiden, rose, portrait, faint
She stood in the moonlight and listen,
For the hoof beats of her lover's approach,
Moonbeams caused her ruby lips to glisten,
Like the dew on the petals of a rose.

The night wind carried the aroma of sage,
The faint echoes of a galloping horse,
And she could hear the distant shouts of rage,
Followed by shouts and the clashing of swords.

She pulled her cloak tight around her shoulders,
Whispered a prayer for his safe arrival,
But on her heart descended fear's boulders,
As she remembered the sorcerer's threat.

"Accept my proposal, become my bride,
Or the man you love will die in battle,
And his soul Hell's Horse will forever ride:
He will eternally harvest the dead."

The maiden waited beneath the full moon,
She waited for her lover until dawn,
When he did not come she began to croon,
A song that became a dispelling spell.

A song that dispelled the sorcerer's curse
By freeing the spirit of her lover,
It caused the forces of hate to disperse:
This is a portrait of what love can do.
