This is the first poem I ever wrote other than a few lyric ones and unfinished thoughts.
A breadthless void of silence fills my mind,
It deafens, chokes, and holds my will at bay.
It chains me to indolence and decay.
A horizon yet unclear but calling
beckons me to reach its strand.
I am anchored to a rigid stone of discontent.
Within my heart I know that I cannot relent.
In this the constant war to free myself from all
That seeks to hold me from what I should do...
...what I should be...
What I should ever strive toward.
A horizon yet unclear but calling.
Summoning to destiny
Across a dark and unknown land
Of darkness and of misery.
A quest to break from anonymity.
A path I must find ere I fall
Into the darkness of eternal night.
What hope exists beyond the reach of life?
A glint of promise there is none.
Deeds accomplished ere my time is done.
Lest life be pyrrhic; nothing won.
