My mother liked Pasty Cline...

My mother liked Patsy Cline,
And I remember wondering
Exactly why
She was so inclined.

I've never been a Country fan,
And Patsy's voice is full of twang.
It wasn't until my first heartbreak,
That I started to understand.

Though she sings with that drawl,
Her words they do transcend.
And her voice becomes
Every woman's tragic call.

She sings of love and heartache,
As if she knows it well.
She sings of the pain of betrayal,
Too strong for the heart to take.

And when my heart was broken,
I played "Crazy" on repeat.
And I finally knew what Mama always did,
And we shared a bond, unspoken.
