A Humorous (I Hope) Look at the Holidays Line Count: 24
It's that time of year again
when supermarkets play Jingle Bells
during their Halloween sales events.

It's the time of year when
O'Malley's bar and grill
adds pumpkin spice
to Irish whiskey and green beer.

It's that time of year again
when the drunks of the city bus
wax-poetic
about pumpkin pie ice cream
and their mother's
homemade cornbread
acorn dressing.

It's the time of year when
commercials begin touting
this year's must have
Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Year's gifts
that you won't be able to return
because Aunt Bertha didn't include
the sales slip of the re-gifted gift she gave you
or because the gift was place in
last year's recycled gift bag
from Saks Fifth Avenue.
