When I killed the car engine for a memorable journey.
Driving through the stormy night
With heavy rains and no street light
Exhausted and fearful as I was
Full of self pity as I was

Staring at the rear view mirror
Getting blurred vision of the
Things that passes my way
Confusing collage of images
Assortment of people and emotions

My hand held tight on the steering
And sight oscillating between the front
And the past seen through rear view

She appeared with all her charm
Through the passage of the past
Cheerful, smiling and playful as she was
Kissing my earlobe from behind
And her hands engulfing my shoulder

When I killed the car engine
For a memorable journey.
