When reality crushes dreams
Today I woke up from my sleep.
Abandoned dollhouses,
my teddy bear had lost his ear.

Where am I?
Lost, unaware in a place all too familiar.
Where are my friends who were playing games with me yesterday?
What are these empty spaces next to me right now?

I ate jelly beans and rode on unicorns,
floating freely on cotton clouds,
living in a space where imaginations thrived.
Happiness knew no ends according to me,
till one day it decided to flee.

Confusion and no clarity,
adulthood was the only imposed reality.

They promised me the fruits of tomorrow,
convinced that poisons cure.
Acceptance was the only option
as they invited me to dwell amongst their deception.

What are these structures they've built for us?
Asking us to search comfort within the diameters of
ideals made in glass!

Do I become an outcast if I said no?
Embrace it all just because they said so?

Tonight I force myself to go back to sleep.
Hoping to find the unicorn lost in my dreams.
