A desperate man's plea
Tear me down-
demolish what I have become
and rebuild me,
that I may one day rise.

I fall down
upon the gilded shaft,
a honed blade
hammered out of my short comings

I seek not
to continue as the man I was.
I seek not
the path of least resistance.

Deny me now
that which I do not deserve.
Lift me up
to the gallows of my making.

This I seek -
Knowledge, wisdom, pain
Call the sand -
and the wind-
to scrub me clean again.
