Light and dark poem submission
Shadows spread,
Darkness Creeps,
Silently chasing light.
Dampening, hiding, covering
Everything in its path.
Light, retreats, afraid,
Retracting, running,
Folding in on itself
Unwilling to be snuffed out.
A spark remains.
Cut off, alone.
Darkness reaches out,
Extinguishing, laughing.
An explosion of light,
A spark no more.
Warmth and light floods,
Flowing like a river,
Merging together once more.
Darkness shrinks, cowering,
Defeated.
Light returning,
Strengthened,
Spreading, glowing.
Triumphant, in control,
From a corner,
Stealthily, darkness creeps.
