Lift my spirits
By JB

I saw you from my window
Looking so worn and tired.
You’ve aged and look so withered
Unlike the person I used to know.
You are but, a shattered image,
drugs have left your life in ruin.
I still have feelings for you, the one whom I adored.
It’s hard to see you there in pain,
Because your fix is gone.
I know that you are trying day by day to get past it;
But the power it has over you consumes every moment.
You did not do it to yourself, it was quite a mistake.
Hurting yourself at work, left you in dreadful pain.
I pray to my God each night that He will lift your plight
And give you peace once more my dear and help you win the fight.
