Heroin Addiction
It matters and it doesn’t just like everything else
Holes poked here and there
In life, my arms, while memories fall off of shelves.
Wings for a second though chemically enhanced
If only for a blink I can fly I’ll probably always take the chance
I know you take from me, but you give so much back and more
I stare at you, inanimate yet so appealing
Containing my happiness, my escape from the darkest feelings
I missed you, but you know that
You waited for me as I longed for you
You haven’t changed at all, but I have
Though you say you’ll make due
Of course I want to go somewhere Just you and I
So wrong yet so right
I want to feel your dark water delight
You travel fast now with my scarlet regrets
Down your circular tube of emotions
Into my arm to make me forget
Your name suits you if there was ever one that did
You come so quickly and soothe my chaotic head
You never worry if we’ll make it, you know I’ll come back again
So long as you never change and always promise to be my heroin.
