Free style poem
I can feel my hair greying
The tiny follicles losing their pigment one by one to colorless shine
Taking with them my youth.
It's been a day -
That one little phrase is weighted down by all that is unsaid-
Tending to the little terrors
The loves of my life
But now the day is over
And I can reclaim my womanhood.
All I want to do is surrender to a sea of hops
And breathe deeply
wrapping myself in a cocoon of your warmth
Your sweet scent of tobacco and strong coffee enveloping and eventually consuming me
