A father's teaching goes a long way - a sports poem.
An extremely talented, instructional coach,
Advising youth with his hands-on approach.
He passes on training he's acquired in sports
To his able offspring with whom he cavorts.

Surprisingly gifted, with fabulous genes,
A journey started through all of his means;
This father to daughter, this daddy, his son,
Giving up plenty while having much fun.

Hitting a fastball or rounding a base,
Fielding a grounder or just giving chase -
Countless drills, like dribbling and service
For big game moments while staring quite nervous.

Some challenging goals are well within reach
And many have talent, so anxious to teach.
Hours spent learning with so much to gain,
Much dedication, with sports on the brain.

Professionals made, this time-honored way -
Experienced dads showing kids how to play.
Now running the ladder or making that grade,
An incredible trophy which no one should trade.
