A short poem made shortly after the death of my aunt whom I was very close to.
The heather blows freely on the air

Living out its life with no care

A heather must fly free

Death was sudden and filled with sorrow

A sorrow because there will be no tomorrow

A heather must fly free

The grass will cry for lack of years

And the trees surrounding will cry true tears

A heather must fly free

But do they not know she is no longer in pain?

Do they not know her death was not in vain?

A heather must fly free

So though there may be no more tomorrows

And all may be forever in sorrow

A heather must fly free

And free she will be in sky

Forever running in the light

A heather must fly free
