The joy of restful sleep...
A Dreamer's Dream

Yesterday as I lay in tranquil slumbers

Children laughed and played

Some unknown person paid a bill

Some other passed away.

People worked and lived their lives

Oblivious to me or mine

Some wept in darkest of despair

Some enjoyed a good red wine

All of this went on as I dreamed a dreamer's dream

Far away from the mundane

And also the extreme

I had a dream about my job

And then about my home

I dreamed of people long gone past

I dreamed of the unknown

I visited faraway lands

Where horses galloped in the sky

I drove a car from the back seat

And yet I did not die

I ran like something wild

Among golden meadows and dark green wood

I felt alive and hopeful

I knew that life was good

I found myself in a field of wild flowers

Whose fragrances perfumed the air

I embraced my dream lover

With emerald eyes

And golden hair

And as he drew me closer

And my eyes locked into his

I awoke abruptly right before our kiss...

I dreamed a dreamer's dream

And found the secrets of my heart

Renewed for one more day

Ready for one more start
