Trying hard not to fall off the cliff...


Standing on the precipice, I look down and all I see is the swirling grey.

Scared and cold I have no idea how I got up here.

I only know that I am here and the bottomless pit keeps calling my name.

If only the voices in my head would cease...

If only the pounding of my heart would slow down...

I long for a bit of peace in the chaos that is my mind.

I find none.

I struggle against the enormous impulse to take a step forward

And plunge into the unknown depths,

But fear holds me in this limbo above Oblivion.

I wait for the stormy winds to knock me down or knock me off the edge.

But all I do is teeter here on the lip of the chasm.

Unbalanced and off kilter and out of sorts,

I dangle on the edge of the unknown

Wishing I had the courage to leap.
