RS Poem

Dormant grasses outside, growth stalled
snow falls as weather again has called
winter summoned soft flakes to land
yet vanishes as if not enthralled

The time of death is now at hand
as life retreats across the land
the world outside is void of sound
waits mother nature’s new command

As the absence is all but profound
in the plains winter winds resound
chills across empty landscapes
gentle snowflakes yet to be found

Gauze like shroud over land now drapes
to muffle sounds and obscure shapes
and with her blanket now installed
from natures hand nothing escapes
