A symbolic poem on some of the ways I see myself.
I am a circus, a collection of oddities
My neurons and electrons are the performers
My heart the ringmaster
The world my audience

I am a familiar home, a shoulder to cry on
At least to those who know me
Come on over, if you're feeling down
I'll try to help, but no guarantees

I am a puppet of society, a marionette to be exact
Going through motions and routine day to day
Thinking to be free
Yet controlled by silent fingers hiding in the shadows

I am the ocean, with an unpredictable nature
Depths of guilt and littered emotion
Quick to retreat, quick to anger, quick to quiet
Cautious, considering, constant, always watching

I am the better half of the devil, aren't we all?
The choice of good or evil
Walking a path of light and darkness
Choose, choose, but don't choose wrong

I am like any human out there, yet not
I have a purpose of my own
Something to do, something to change
For better or worse, who knows?
