A homeowners battle with the unseen.
I came home one day to find,

I may have lost my mind.

Our outdoor cushioned seats,

Chewed to tatters as if a tasty meat.

What ferocious creature must there be,

To wreak this havoc with such glee.

I searched high and low for a clue,

Was it cat or dog or critter new?

An alien perhaps, who traveled from afar,

To dine upon the furniture he found,

in my backyard.

At last exhausted from the search,

I sat to watch from tattered perch.

As I enjoyed my kingdom's view,

I noticed the birdfeeders all askew.

Treats set out for finches drawn,

Lay wasted now down on the lawn.

What monster banquets with such greed,

devouring both chair and seed.

Soon there's movement in the tree,

Oh! Is it now looking to feed on me?
