A poetic extrapolating of something a friend told me.
Sitting next to the train tracks
I just want to leave, ill never come back
I wish those trains didn't pass so fast.
Those trains don't know that they are my last hope.

I used to love where I lived.
I was happy and I laughed.
The sun was kind, and the rain fell easy.
Now my bones are cold, and the rain is Ice.
At least these tracks stay busy.

I might be drunk, might I be high, and I might be young.
That's not why I run away.
I run because I have to say "I" instead of "We".
I am not saying I don't have friends
It's just that this town makes me feel like I will never reach "Me"

All of these people who always act like we are supposed to a certain way.
They just make me want to hop a train and see what's on the other side.
What is at the end of the line?

It has to be better than what is at the beginning.
The intro is filled with pain,
The end must have at least a little joy.

My heart is aching as another train passes by.
Could anything be more profane?
You could step out a few more feet and be gone forever.
You could step back and be stuck here.
But latch on and you can go where you will.

So why do we stay and stagnate when the future is within our grasp.?
Just hop and train. Let the past stay and pass.
Don't let the future zoom by in front of your eyes.
