Spread your wings and keep singing!
Gaslights

A canary down a coal mine
Calling to be freed
From a prison of its making
Caged, contained by creeds
Shackled by the moments
The moments inbetween
The still frames that define us
Through lenses we are seen
Viewed through tints, shade, rosy
A telescope afar
From shores, a cautious distance
A future held ajar
A present spent on thinking
A past lost in regret
With seeds, procrastinations
Uncertainties beset
Better to be birds of prey
To live a life well drawn
Brave hearts see the light of day
Bright souls seize the dawn
Treading high above the waves
In skies of ocean blue
I sailed under white flags low
… I should've sailed through
Swathing through a whitewash, rough
Choppy as we go
Get going when the goings tough
Before the suns sets low
Singing in a coal mine dark
With endings coming soon
Canaries dwell in caverns stark
Whilst owls stalk the moon
