Land of the Free

A nation built from the placing of trust in hollow truth
While the youth emulate our mistakes and follow suit
No reproof, no truth, though the answer is evident
The surgical removal of all cancerous elements
To take responsibility from the hands of the president
As the slogan turns from "Yes we can!" to "We demand evidence!"
What happens when a society lacks morals and piety?
The people sit and watch, as Rome crumbles quietly
The conglomerate of the obstinate, a parliament of charlatans
Where hardships are answered with wage and tax garnishments
The rich take it for granted, poor struggle to be a part of it
Where darkness is marketed and teenagers are targeted
Where the fear of terrorist attacks keep threat levels high
A little fact, mingled into the midst of several lies
Where the hobnobbers get pushed to the front and rebels die
And they all fall in line for a slice of the devil's pie
