A poem I wrote years ago. One of my favorites.
Sing Me...
Sing me a sad song, I want to cry.
Love me today, for tomorrow I might die.
Laugh with a baby, giggle with a child.
Smell the roses along the garden path.

Love me a little longer, I need your touch so bad.
I yearn to be near you, to feel you close by.
Many say it's just a fantasy, lust, a dream; but
not love.

Days go by, the years roll on.
Youth is almost gone.
A sweet fragrance of love still lingers in my mind.

Whatever happened to that feeling of years ago.
Love has dwindled to a spark, but no draft comes
to stoke the flame.

Sing me a love song.
Played sweet and low.
Dance with me a little while until darkness claims
my soul.
