Oddly enough, I usually don't remember my dreams. This one stuck
Last night's dream
you and I in a coffee shop
laughing and hanging out
like most Saturdays

in walks your ex
with one of her kids by her side
he looks miserable
like she has a gun to his ribs

they pause
to make niceties
he grumbles a greeting
between clenched teeth

I guess he doesn't
agree
with his mom's split
And sure he doesn't like me

you laugh and hold your coffee up
like a glass of champagne
and say Cheers!
