passionless
Even after the police told
me you were dead--
I couldn't believe them.

I tried to tell them
I saw you hanging around
in the back yard.

Through the window,
I invited you.

But you refused.
My hands are calloused,
lifeless.

Days blend together,
you're in my dreams.
Haunting,
hiding in my shadow.

Never far.
