a poem of love lost
(won 3rd place in may newbies & open poetry contest}

Time To Speak

Yes, I know, I am quiet today; that started at my choosing.
My heart needs silence; when it's your love, I am losing.

I feel you pull away while leaving so much unsaid.
A silent fight is happening between my heart and head.

Can you say with complete honesty that you still care?
When you make me wonder, if tomorrow, you will be here.

Do I plead with you to stay on my knees here on the floor?
Do I act like a Lady and politely open up the door?

I usually have so much to say; you know this is true
Since the time my heart lost itself inside of you.

Right now, you talk of nonsense, carefree matters.
Waiting for my time to speak, I felt my whole world shatter.
