A poem I wrote reflecting my new found love of nature.
Clouds of grey and darker days
Smothering, stealing my light
Raining even on sunny days,
Happiness far from sight

Worthless, burden, waste of space
Screaming through my soul
Ignore, I must, ignore I try
But it was out of my control

I've learnt we can all feel lost sometimes
And it's hard to know our place
Why am I on this big wide world,
A part of the human race?

Oftentimes, uncertainty
Of the paths in which we choose
But if we do what fills our hearts with joy
Can we really ever lose ?

A constant buzz around our heads
A to do list with no end
But it's okay to stop and for once be still
And let the trees become your friend

Healing, can this forest be
And though I'm out here on my own,
My light shines once more from within
And I can feel I'm not alone

I wonder about this exquisite world
How it's all of ours to roam
Lucky, I am, among these trees
Cause in nature, I feel home

My soul drinks in the beauty
And I know now I am free,
My heart is open, peace prevails
In each breath, tranquility
