I lost a love, after a while I realized I didn`t really lose at all.
The sun crept through my window and kissed my eyes
I awoke slowly opened them and sighed.
Turned to hide my face from the light.
Looked beside me... still in mind... out of sight.

I closed my eyes and turned from the glare
Flung my arm around to hold you... but you were not there
A tear stung my eye as it did the night before
then rolled across my face... I died a little more.

I shed one after another until my eyes were dry and red
I have since the day you left as I lay alone in bed
The pain is excruciating when I think of you
All those times you said you love me too.

You stowed away you stole my heart from me
You were the best, my greatest victory
Should be an epic loss I suffered
The loss is yours because I was your greatest lover

The tears I've shed, the pain I feel I can endue
You know what you threw away of that, I'm sure
Baptized in my sea of love I made you whole again.
Wife, lover, sister, mother, would've been my all, my best friend.

I sigh again turn towards the sun
The memory of your love a fleeting one
I`ll be over you before too long
Took back my heart my love is gone.
