Love can burn hot and bright.
Only by thy lover's hand
can steal death's cold embrace
if not for warmth, the common man
has folly gone to trace

Only by thy lover's heart
can hide death's cold caress
a tepid air may bring afar
the chill of emptiness

Only by thy love's desire
can quench death's cold disdain
for fevered in divine the fire
will burn so bright a flame
