A poem about a meeting of childhood friends and our hypocrisy created by perspective
I've changed a bit since last we met
I've grown an inch and cut my hair
I've lost some weight and gone to the gym
My voice has deepened over the years
But I'm still the me you knew before

I've changed a bit since last we met
I've tried new foods and songs to sing
I've grown out of a few old things
I've made new friends and lost some more
But I'm still the me you knew before

I've changed a bit since last we met
I've changed my tastes, my likes and hates
I've grown opinions on the world I'm in
And I'm much more shy than I used to be
But I'm still the me you knew before

You've changed a bit since last we met
You've grown so tall and cut your hair
You're singing different songs to me
You've changed in almost everything
You're not the you I knew before
