New life can enter a once dead place.
The sun sneaks in between the holes in the sheetrock
lighting up the fresh paint on the wall
beautiful light dances like flames, engulfing the room.

This place is dead, has been for a while
the sun bravely tries to bring it back to life
new paint will not do any good, I know but I try.

It's a stream of red and yellow that contains life
it will be gone soon, but for now this room is alive
flames making it appear merry, hiding the dust.

They tell me it's really a shack, not a house at all
but they haven't seen it at sunset, when life comes in
flames engulf death, smothering it until it's indistinguishable
the sun begins to sink, but it's still alive, in my mind permanently ablaze.
