My Shadow

If I tripped over my own shadow
I must be living in Peter Pan's world,
where shadows have their own thoughts,
just like Shadow, in Bear in the Big Blue House.

If I tripped over my own shadow,
I wonder if I'd be scared.
I wonder if my shadow came alive
and tricked me, just to go back
to being a shadow.

I wonder if my shadow would be my friend,
or if it's just there to play tricks on me,
like tripping me.
