Short poem about growing old and pain
I wake up in the morning,
with so much hope for life;
By 10, I’m remembering
what my life was like,
Before the years passed me by
and left me half of me,
I wonder how life will be
when I’m nearing the finale.

I can’t think now of rainbows,
as the journey I am on,
Doesn’t take me to the pot of gold,
no matter what I want,
I carry pain and strife these days
as my body breaks down,
I want to know what life felt like,
when I was beautiful and young.
