A poem about the dangers of love and a sacrifice of safety.
"Lamppost"

At the bottom of the lamppost

I buried my heart,

In hopes the light would one day

Help me find it again.

Up from the ground grew a vine of thorns and roses,

Because my beauty was dangerous

And could easily hurt;

But my love was soft yet strong,

Like the frail rose,

In confidence, towering over the ground.
