Sometimes life is just too hard; written for "Dark Dreamscapes

Let me out! Let me out!
It’s so dark in here!
There’s been a mistake!
I don’t belong in here!

I have a job and a home
A family too.
They’re counting on me.
I swear! It’s all true!

I didn’t mean what I did.
It was just a bad day.
I was done with it all,
So I made it all go away.

Who could have known
That I would end up here?
I guess most dead people do,
But now they have nothing to fear.

No more deadlines. No more meetings
No more birthdays forgotten.
No more pain, no more politics.
Just the peace of slowly rotting.

Let me in! Let me in!
I’ve made a mistake!
Close the door and seal it shut!
I’m not dead yet, but I’m patient...
I’ll wait.
