Life and Death
Down around cobbled paths our souls have ever went,
time ticking tumultuous, our lives ever spent.
Counting down breaths, exhaling our precious time,
In these few years will we find reason's rhyme?

There's thousands of thoughts that blur the line,
vivid accounts of why, our souls entwine.
sparse words fail, they could never make whole,
reasons we push forward in our roles.

Fires fervent this spirit embedded into the grain,
Like the artist's brush, emblazoning their memory's stain
Licking life's canvas, feeding around the beloved fray
Our push perishing the light of our striving stray.
