Not everyone has a perfect life.
Late Night Delivery

Tired, hungry and full of pain
Kept Cassie moving, to get out of the rain
She passed some people buying trees
Their fur collared coats kept them warm from the breeze
Music played from radios inharmonious from afar
Lights glowed red from affluent men’s cigars
The city bus honked its horn for the route
Holiday workers walked slowly to their final hang out
No holiday festivities for Cassie this special day
For her daughter Hope was born in an alley by the bay.
