A different perspective.

Forgive me father

For I know not

What I’ve done

A pardon?

Please?

Give me a chance

To uphold your manse

Leave me unfulfilled, tease.

Forgive me father

This I ask

Fill my flask

Make it flow over

Near the Cliffs of Dover

May the Spirit guide me

Down this crooked road

You’ve condemned me to

With improbable load

Lashed to my back.

Forgive me father

Do you not hear me?

My back is bent

My legs drag

These ones you’ve sent

Know not why

I’ve gone on this lent

Yet still they cry

To follow in my footsteps.

Father, forgive me

I know why now

You’ve sent me here

To this little place

These people I’ll steer

Into your grace

They don’t understand me

They fear my face

My purpose

Misconstrued.

Forgive them father

For they are feeble

Weak

Lustful

Prideful

You have left me here

To mold these steer

Like the cattle they are

Each other they mar

Kill

Destroy

Easily, at will.

Forgive me Man

For you know me not

My place is here

Not there

For I am the Morning Star

And you are weak

I am here to test you

Break you

Mold you

So that one day

You are

You.
