Poem, about living in abusive relationship

Does it matter

Does it matter that you poked my eye out?
Or that you pushed my heart away,
Is it fair to accept this "forever" today?

Does it matter you steal my sanity?
And place it in the garden with snails,
Was it yours to take and plant at liberty
Was it your right as a man with nails?

Is it because I wear a bra and skirt?
That I am able to show you all my hurt,
Or is it because as a man you cannot
Cannot see how this bruising won't stop,

Does it matter again I ask you,
To stop calling me names and making me a fool
Does it matter that I prefer to be alone in my room?
As I see that you cannot even be a good friend

I find strength and dare to speak out, and boom
Tenacious as a tsunami wave it's the wrong move
Your hold is strong, I allow you again to win
But god will come, and I will let him in

Does it matter now the mighty one is here.
He can see the hurt and my quivering heart,
He removes the stakes you've placed, I begin to fall apart
It will take time, perhaps another life time until fully
I will heal, but you will always remain a bully
