Set of unconventional haikus; for a class; teacher insisted on NOT counting syllables.
Fire burns a log to ash
A blank page—
Mocking a full inkwell.
-----------------------------------------------------
A chilling touch.
A wavering stem.
Death on display.
---------------------------------------------------
The cycle completed--
And started again!
Soft blades aplenty
--------------------------------------------------
Long days of
Sweet ice,
Bubbling on the hot asphalt.
