Darkness quavers and shatters,
Millennial music erupts,
Fragments of chaos splatter,
Seraphim songs interrupt.

Cherubim intone the refrain,
Seraphim songs interrupt,
Thrones echo the strain.

Cherubim intone the refrain,
While Dominions improvise,
Thrones echo the strain,
And Virtues harmonize.

While Dominions improvise,
Powers chant spirituals,
And Virtues harmonize.
Principalities wax lyrical.

Powers chant spirituals,
Archangels sing the blues,
Principalities wax lyrical,
Angels the rhythms diffuse.

Archangels play the blues,
A new symphony generated,
Angels the rhythms diffuse,
A musical of light created.

Form: Pantoumi composed of quatrain stanzas. The rhyme scheme is abab, with lines 2 and 4 repeated as lines 1 and 3 in the next stanza.
