Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Bodies lie amongst the poppies, still besides the odd shudder,
Home mother bawls,
Emotions that smother.

With artillery roar and machine gun sputter,
Each man falls,
Brother beside brother.

The poppies are lonely now, clear of gore and clutter,
Until war calls,
One after another.
