Family Affair

I touched the wall
They were still there
My cousins
Etched in black marble
Datena (42 E 49)
Poldino (29 W 13)
Many more names.
Walked South on the Mall
Carved bronze
Crying nurses, care for wounded
I was there, my wounds.
Walked East on the mall
Atlantic Theater
June 6, 1944
Not enough room to list
All the names
My father was there.
Looked South
Pacific Theater
Okinawa
My uncle was there.
Afghanistan
Not yet present
My son was there.
Three generations
All wounded or killed.
Please bring peace
I have grandsons.
