Distance Between Us

Today I feel worried,
Knowing my time’s running low.
These years seem to have hurried,
Making it time for us to grow.

Today I feel sorrow,
Realizing I’m losing my heart,
To a team created to go
Into a war, when command to depart.

Today I feel torn apart,
Wanting you to stay with me,
But knowing this isn’t smart,
For you desire soaring across the sea.

Though this confusion makes me cry,
Inside I know our love will not die.
